Access
I have long been involved in the
debate as to whether their should be
open or restricted access to fossil
hominin finds.  My opinion is quite
simple - no matter how hard these
fossils were to find, science cannot
advance without the sharing of data.
Furthermore, no single scientist nor
single team of scientists carries
enough expertise to write a
definitive and everlasting description
nor conduct the singular definitive
analysis - this is science after all and
not religion.
Below are some links to writings on
fossil access.

And here is an article I
wrote on the subject
I also support open access
journals such as
PLoS and
the Citizendium project
where I sit on the
executive committee.
